Where were you in the summer of 1982?
Well, I was walking across this bridge. It's another photo from the archives of our family vacation to Kauai. That was then. The photo below is now. Mahalo to my dad for the first photo and to Pussycat for the other. Recreating that picture was more difficult than it would seem.
In November of 1982, long after the van Nouhuyses had returned to California, Hurricane Iwa struck Kauai. It was the worst hurricane to strike the state in decades.
