Move Over, Iz
Blogging has taken a back burner to other projects here at Planet Haolewood and today I’d like to tell you about one of them. This ukulele belonged to my grandmother. Like the canoe I raced in, it's made of Koa, a hardwood unique to Hawaii. According to the guy at Larry’s Music, it was made in the 1960s by Kamaka, a ukulele maker of note. I’ve started learning to play it by downloading chord charts. So far I’ve learned to play:
Blowin’ in the Wind
Swing Low, Sweet Chariot
Take on Me
YMCA
Hold me now
You Shook me all Night Long
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
The Lumberjack Song
Ring of Fire
Amazing Grace
